Delaware State Police have filed charges against the operator of the NYC tour bus that crashed in Delaware on September 21st.

The 56-year-old Jinli Zhao is charged with two counts of the operation of a vehicle causing death of another person.

“It’s tragic when a bus accident causes the loss of life and catastrophic injuries,” commented bus accident attorney Jim Ronca at Anapol Schwartz.

Two passengers died in the Delaware bus crash, and 47 passengers were injured. Zhao was treated for minor injuries.

The driver was rounding a tight curve to exit State Route 1 at an unsafe speed when the bus rolled over onto its roof.  Speed has been a contributing factor in a number of accidents at this location, according to National Transportation Safety Board investigators.

Zhao was taken to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution where police believe he is likely to face additional charges.
