About Jessica
Jessica Pride founded The Pride Law Firm with a singular focus: representing survivors of sexual violence in civil court. Over nearly two decades, she has helped hundreds of survivors hold perpetrators and negligent institutions accountable — not just for compensation, but to drive the systemic changes that protect others from harm.
Jessica pioneered a trauma-informed approach to legal representation, making The Pride Law Firm the first in California to employ a full-time Survivor Advocate on staff. Her team provides more than legal counsel — they offer emotional support, resource connections, and a confidential environment where survivors feel believed and empowered throughout the process.
Beyond her practice, Jessica co-founded the American Association for Justice's Sexual Assault Litigation Group and served seven years on the AAJ Board of Governors. She spent four years as Board President of the Center for Community Solutions, San Diego's largest domestic violence and rape crisis center, and founded the Sirona Healing Center to provide trauma support resources.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to speak with a sexual abuse attorney?
Initial consultations with The Pride Law Firm are free and confidential. Jessica Pride and her team handle sexual abuse cases on a contingency fee basis, meaning you pay nothing unless they recover compensation on your behalf.
What is the statute of limitations for sexual abuse in California?
California has significantly expanded the statute of limitations for sexual abuse claims. Under AB 218, survivors of childhood sexual abuse can file civil claims regardless of when the abuse occurred. For adult survivors, the deadline is generally 10 years from the date of the last act or 3 years from discovery of the injury. An attorney can help determine your specific filing deadline.
Can I file a civil lawsuit even if there were no criminal charges?
Yes. Civil cases and criminal cases are separate legal proceedings with different standards of proof. You can pursue a civil lawsuit for damages even if the perpetrator was never charged, the charges were dropped, or they were acquitted in criminal court. Civil cases require a lower burden of proof (preponderance of evidence vs. beyond a reasonable doubt).
What types of sexual abuse cases does The Pride Law Firm handle?
The Pride Law Firm represents survivors of child sexual abuse, sex trafficking, workplace sexual harassment, clergy abuse, institutional abuse, and sexual assault. Jessica Pride and her team focus exclusively on representing survivors in civil court, holding both individual perpetrators and negligent institutions accountable.
