The FDA issued a statement indicating that Defibtech voluntarily recalled 5,418 of the company’s DBP-2800 battery because the packs might falsely detect an error condition while charging for a shock, which would, in turn, cancel the charge. The recall affects all units shipped before June 4, 2007.
The company recommends that the fire departments, emergency medical service units, health clubs, schools, etc., who received these units should keep them until the problem is corrected. Recommendations for use of those that remain in service have been listed at the company’s website.
