1) Signal, slow down and pull onto the right shoulder of the road.
2) Turn on hazard lights.
3) Raise the vehicle’s hood.
4) Stay inside the vehicle with the doors locked, unless you fear the vehicle may be struck. If you decide not to stay in the vehicle, never stand directly behind or in front of it.
5) Call for assistance if possible.
