Twitter is Alive and Well in the Ham – 1st Edition

Well, I haven’t blogged in a while, and that’s obviously not a good thing.  And, this is not going to be the typical injury or lawyer blog.  In fact, it is probably the atypical attorney blog.  I am going to talk about Twitter and my limited experience with the social media site.

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting numerous people I have never met before – kind of.  Well, I had met them, but only virtually (whatever that word really means).  But, today, I had more than 140 character conversations with them, and I probably would never have met them but for Twitter.

Who did I meet and where?  Well, I’ll show you some of these interesting individuals.

First, I met Stacey Hood.  Who is Stacey?  Stacey’s Twitter handle is @staceyhood.  Stacey’s own description is:  Linchpin. Alternative Thinker. Old School Skater. Soccer player & coach. Support Arsenal. Music Snob. Digital Dude. Fez wearer.  Stacey is also the founder of Birmingham Lunch Brunch #BhamLB (that’s a hashtag for you Twitter scoffers).  Today, we met at Nikki’s West on Finley – a landmark Birmingham Restaurant.

Stacey’s main business is Digital design at Provenance Digital.

Next, I met Clint DeShazo.  Clint is a nice young man who is getting a new business off the ground.  It’s a moving business called Lift Moving – Your source for moving in Birmingham Alabama! Email: move@liftmoving.com.  Clint’s got a good brand going.  He’s energetic and creative, and he’s got several twitter handles – @liftmoving is the one I know.

@EatBhm was an elusive individual for a while, and apparently, my detective skills are lacking according to her friends.  But, I finally came through and figured it out.  I won’t out you here although the cat is probably out of the bag.  In any event, @EatBhm has a blog about restaurants in the Ham.  She is an active and clever Tweeter (person who is on Twitter and tweets for the novice).  She was so kind to deliver some incredible cookies today also.

These are only three of the people I met, but since I’m in a rush to meet another VERY important Tweeter @alisonlewis (food blogger) at Avo-Dram for a drink, I must get going.  I will introduce you to several others very soon.
