A voluntary recall of Personal Emergency Reporting System (PERS) Transmitters was issued because the batteries can fail to emit a low battery warning which can lead to transmitter not properly generating a warning. This is a secondary recall to an initial recall in December 2013.

At this time, there has been one report of a transmitter failing to operate. However, there have been no reports of injuries. Consumers are urged to contact Linear to receive a free replacement transmitter.

The recalled PERS transmitters are components of Linear PERS or personal emergency solutions products that enable users to push a button on the transmitter when emergency assistance is required.

The recall involves the following device model numbers:

DXS-62A (black wristband and a gray pendant)

DXS-62A1 (ivory plastic belt clip pendant)

DXS-64 (gray plastic pendant with a green circle in the center)

The date range of the recalled devices is June 2008 through April 2011. For photos of the recalled devices, please refer to the CPSC News Release.
