Former teacher has been jailed for 16 years for the possession of thousands of child sex abuse images. The former teacher, from Brecon, Wales, admitted four charges of possessing images of children, which had been downloaded between 14 May 2010 and 1 January 2013.

Sex offenders are accessing children not just in the UK but abroad too, and especially developing counties where there is in effect a trade in supplying victims. Poor families in return for money will hand over a child for exploitation. The problem was identified by New South Wales Police and both they and the National Crime Agency in the UK have focused attention on Australians and Britons who facilitate this trade and this has resulted in successful prosecutions.
