I have been discussing fire safety in nursing homes this week . I thought I would share some common injuries that occur in nursing homes.These injuries are the result of negligent or intentional ommission of care , and failure to properly treat , monitor , assess , and promptly notify a doctor of these problems .
Restraint injuries are caused by the improper use of physical or chemical restraints .Decubitius ulcers commonly known as bed sores are cause by neglect . Falls and fractures are caused by a lack of supervision or understaffing of the facility. Physical abuse and assault cases are centered around the nursing home not making a a good decision in hiring an employee .These are the main areas of concern in nursing home safety .
