James Ronca is a civil trial attorney with more than 30 years of experience. His practice includes pharmaceutical and medical device cases, major car and truck collision cases, and construction site injury litigation. Jim has won complex crash cases with multiple plaintiffs and defendants including cases involving as many as 47 vehicles.
Jim is a former President of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and former Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section. He served six years on the Board of Governors of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and co-chaired that association’s Baycol Litigation Group in 2002 and 2003. In 1984, Jim received the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association’s annual award to its outstanding member. In 1998, Mr. Ronca was awarded the Musmanno Award by the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association for achievements in his career as an outstanding litigator, fearless leader and dedicated defender of the rights of the innocent and injured. In 2012, Mr. Ronca received a distinguished service award from the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
Jim has served as Co-lead Counsel in national multi-district litigations. He has given more than 350 individual seminars on these topics for various state and national bar and trial lawyer associations. In addition to many lectures in Pennsylvania, he has been invited to lecture in 16 other states. Mr. Ronca is the co-author of a book about handling motor vehicle crash cases in Pennsylvania, which is in its third edition is considered the most widely referenced book on motor vehicle and automobile personal injury practice.
Mr. Ronca has been appointed to numerous committees including the prestigious Civil Procedural Rules Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court (2006-2012), of which he was appointed vice chair in 2011.
He has been named among the Top 10 and Top 100 Pennsylvania Lawyers by Super Lawyers®. He graduated with honors from Lehigh University. He received his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law.
